This beautiful decorative bowl has been turned from Red Mallee Burl (Eucalyptus socialis). It has been fashioned from one of the finest pieces of wood I’ve ever worked with—genuinely “exhibition quality,” as my supplier says. Red Mallee is a truly gorgeous burl wood from Australia and is actually from a species of Eucalyptus. It has fantastic figure and color. One of the great turning woods of the world, it is quite expensiveand difficult to work. But the expense and effort are well worth it!
